Livestock, poultry, and aquatic feed extruder
Livestock, poultry, and aquatic feed extruder machine has been specifically designed for feed production by using granule method. Feed produced via this method enjoys high digestibility. This machine operates using steam and extremely high pressure, i.e. almost 200 bar, which breaks down hydrocarbons and sterilizes the products. Hydrocarbons decomposition enhances the digestibility of feed, sterilizes it, and increases its shelf-life.
Atiye Sazan Negin Faraz Company has designed this machine in two models, i.e. single shaft and double shaft extruders that are manufactured in different capacities of 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 10 tons per hour (tons/h) with respect to the consumer’s needs.
This machine contains a homogenizer-feeder tank, and DDC, all of which are made of (stainless steel) S.St material for food industries, and are equipped with electric motors with special drives, gearboxes, a set of cylinders, shafts, screws, and a set of cutters together with PLC system, and control panel.
Modern Feed Processing for Maximum Productivity
In today’s competitive feed industry, the feed extruder has become a vital component of efficient and sustainable feed production. Designed to process a wide range of raw materials such as corn, soybean meal, fish meal, wheat bran, and other grains, it produces high-quality pellets for livestock, poultry, and aquatic animals.
Extrusion technology combines mechanical pressure, heat, and moisture to transform raw ingredients into stable, nutritious, and easily digestible feed.
🔧 How the Feed Extruder Works

Extruder
The extrusion process begins with raw material conditioning — mixing the ingredients with controlled moisture and temperature. Inside the extrusion barrel, the rotating screw subjects the material to intense shear and friction, increasing pressure and temperature. When the material exits through the die, the sudden pressure drop causes expansion, forming porous and uniform feed pellets.
This process improves starch gelatinization, protein denaturation, and pathogen destruction, ensuring high-quality and safe feed for animals.
⚙️ Main Components of the Feed Extruder
Feeding system: Regulates raw material input for stable operation.
Screw and barrel: Provides high mixing and compression efficiency.
Heating system: Maintains precise temperature control during extrusion.
Cutting unit: Adjusts pellet size and shape according to feed type.
Die plate: Customizable to produce floating or sinking feed for aquatic species.
Each part is made of wear-resistant alloy steel, ensuring long service life and minimal maintenance.
🌾 Advantages of Feed Extrusion Technology
- Improved Nutritional Value
Extrusion breaks down anti-nutritional factors and enhances protein digestibility. It also allows better nutrient absorption in livestock, poultry, and fish.
- Enhanced Feed Hygiene
High temperature and pressure eliminate bacteria, fungi, and parasites, ensuring a clean and safe product.
- Increased Feed Stability
Pellets produced by this process are more stable in water, which is crucial for aquatic feed to minimize nutrient loss.
- Energy Efficiency
Modern extruders consume less power while delivering high output, making them cost-effective for large-scale feed mills.
- Versatility
A single extruder can produce feed for cattle, poultry, fish, shrimp, and pets, simply by changing the die and screw configuration.
