Troubleshooting and Repair of Bucket Elevators

To troubleshoot and repair bucket elevators, refer to the following table:
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
| Noise inside the housing | 1. The belt and buckets are loose.
2. The belt tension is insufficient, or the belt is misaligned (rubbing against the right or left side). |
1. Tighten the belt and bucket pins.
2. If the belt is rubbing on the right side, slightly tighten the tension on the left, and vice versa. |
| Motor starts but material is not conveyed | 1. The material feed to the elevator is not consistent.
2. The motor coupling or key is faulty. <br> 3. The belt tension is incorrect. |
1. Check whether the raw material is being fed into the elevator.
2. Inspect the motor coupling/key and repair if necessary. 3. Adjust the belt tension evenly on both sides so the pulleys properly engage with the main belt and prevent slippage. |
| Motor does not start or draws excessive current | 1. Motor is burnt out.
2. Elevator casing is filled with material. 3. Excessive moisture or high input volume. |
1. Replace the electric motor.
2. Before shutting down the elevator, ensure that the belt and buckets are completely emptied. The elevator must never be stopped under load, and the housing must be empty before restarting. 3. If moisture or fat content exceeds 12%, it can cause material adhesion, bucket clogging, and current overload. |
Maintenance Notes:
The belt and buckets must be thoroughly inspected and checked at least once a week, and a report should be recorded.
Before each production run, ensure all conditions are checked. Lubricate the bearings every two days, and check gearbox oil every two weeks.
**⚠️ Warning:
All maintenance, repairs, and adjustments must only be performed after shutting down the machine and ensuring the main power supply is completely disconnected.
